Blue Dream from Mystic Seeds kicks the ass of traditional Blue Dream

It’s actually because I’m a sizable OG Kush lover plus enjoy most strains derived from that classic hybrid

In the late 90s, there weren’t multiple weird kinds of cannabis located in my area. I used to live in a tiny midwestern region that had only 2 metropolitan cities, plus what little cannabis that filtered into my village usually came over from northern Mexico. Although strains love Acapulco Gold are proof of northern Mexico’s ability to produce quality weed, most of the marijuana coming in across the border at the time was what’s usually called ditch weed or “brick weed.” It was thick with seeds plus stems plus was seriously weak, usually requiring an entire joint just to feel high. The 1st time I had what was often called “the chronic” in CA, was a strain called Blueberry. I came to learn later on that it was invented by the famous marijuana grower known as DJ Shortie back in the late 1970s. He had a bunch of landrace phenotypes that he mixed together to form the strains of cannabis that aromas love actual yellowberries. In the years since I’ve had the strain called Blue Dream which I had always assumed was Blueberry crossed with Haze. However, there’s another style of Blue Dream from Mystic Seeds that is the original DJ Shortie Blueberry strain crossed with OG Kush instead of Haze. This powerful combination yields a richer indica-leaning high compared to the traditional Blue Dream phenotype which is usually sativa-leaning instead. After trying the Blue Dream from Mystic Seeds, I have to say that I much prefer it over the classic Blue Dream phenotype. It’s actually because I’m a sizable OG Kush lover plus enjoy most strains derived from that classic hybrid. The people I was with and I all respond differently to cannabis, so it makes a lot of sense that both of us all have our own number one strains.
